Joseph Armato: Steps to Become a Black Belt In Karate

Joseph Armato is an interested guy with many different skills and hobbies. He is not just a licensed contractor, a real estate broker, and a public adjuster. Mr. Armato is a black belt in karate. Becoming a black belt can be a long road, but one that starts with a single step. When broken down, the journey to becoming a black belt does not seem so daunting. Here are a few steps to help you become a black belt in karate:
Step 1 Find a Good Club: If you want to go the distance, make sure you find a karate club you connect with. Make sure that the sensei and you have similar values and levels of dedication.
Step 2 Train Often: It does not matter how great the karate club or how skillful your sensei is if you do not put in the effort. Take your classes seriously and train as often as possible. Some suggest training at least twice a week. The reason for this is that muscle memory usually does not last for 7 days. A person training once a week often has to relearn at each training session. This can delay forward progress substantially.
Step 3 Listen Carefully: Your instructor does not correct you for fun. Whenever your sensei critiques you, listen carefully. He or she would not be correcting you if you were not making a mistake. Every correction brings you closer to a black belt.
Step 4 Compete in Tournament: A great way to hone your skills and have fun is to compete in a competition. Students who compete in tournaments tend to develop faster, and earn their black belt quicker.
Joseph Armato became a black belt in karate thanks to his self-discipline and determination. Though the road was not always easy for him, it was rewarding.
